We all want to be loved—we crave intimacy. It’s part of our very being to want to be close to someone, to have someone to share things with. When someone says those three little words to you, it can put butterflies in your stomach, make you palms sweat, or even make your head spin. You might smile bigger and laugh harder. The sad thing is that most teens are finding love in all the wrong places.
For starters, there are a large number of teenagers today that think that sex equals love. Well, if that were true then prostitutes would be the happiest people on Earth! Isn’t it interesting that they’re not?
Think about this. What makes you feel more special?
Your bf/gf tells you that they love you and that if you really loved them too then sex wouldn’t be a big deal, and besides, everyone is doing it!
OR
Your bf/gf tells you that you mean the world to them and they want to do whatever it takes to protect you. They would never do anything to jeopardize your relationship and that means not pressuring you to have sex.
Abstinence means saving sex for a faithful and committed marriage. The truth is that the majority of teens out there are choosing abstinence, despite what you might’ve heard. In fact, statistics show that waiting for marriage is a growing trend. Maybe they’re on to something…
