Our students frequently talk about marriage, and finding their "soul mate."  But, what does that mean?  Has Disney led us to believe that there is one specific prince or princess to rescue each of us? If that's true, then shouldn't we try to be someone else's "sole mate" as well?

The American College of Pediatricians has some some words in support of Abstinence Education.  "Almost 40 years of emphasis on 'safer sex' with 'values-neutral sex education,' condoms and contraception has clearly failed our young people," the College stated, adding, "The American College of Pediatricians strongly endorses abstinence-until-marriage sex education and recommends adoption by all school systems in lieu of 'comprehensive sex education.

Many of us have read the words of J.R.R. Tolkien spoken through The Lord of the Rings or The Hobbit. In addition to creating marvelous fantasy worlds that pitted good against evil, he had some personal words for his sons.  Tolkien understood the power of sexual intimacy, and encouraged his sons to keep a tight reign on desires.

The new teen targeted flick "Divergent" opened in the number one spot this past weekend.  The film follows similar sagas such as The Hunger Games and The Twilight Saga by bringing teen-based literature to the big screen.  Wonder if this film is appropriate for your teen?

Would you believe we found yet another study that supports abstinence education?  It's true: the study found that contraception-promoting courses as well as comprehensive courses "neither reduced teen sex nor did they increase contraceptive use among teens, which is their major emphasis.

I'm a sucker for the Olympics. I love the competition, and the human interest stories that are featured. Proctor and Gamble launched a new series of advertisements called "Raising an Olympian."  This story of paralympian Taylor Lipsett is a beautiful story of support.
